Georgia Country Reviews

Jared Ashley released his self-titled cd in August and it's one cd that you should pick up for your collection. Even though he is one of the "young guns" and rising stars of country music, he has an old school and fresh approach to his music. He opens his cd with "Be Still My Broken Heart' and "It's Your Fault", two great toe tapping, two steppin' songs that will remind you of country from the 90's. "A Little Change" is a well written song about we all need a "change" in our lives, from the guy on the street to our own person. "Last Train To Memphis" slows it down just a bit, about a guy getting back to his love. He remembers the past with "I Miss It Now", remembering the things in lives from the town we grew up in, school, football and how we "miss it now". He pulls a little country blues out with "Love Take All My Money", a fun song that will have you singing along with. "The Ballad of Noodlin' Bobby" opens up with a guy trying to find a song on radio, till he finds the right one. The song is a great instrumental that is very refreshing to hear, showing that talent isn't just in voice but musically as well. A great guitar number that Chet Atkins would be proud of. "Stained" has been one song that has garnered rave reviews since the release of the cd. A great song a love one in someone's life, that she's been "stained" by life but he still loves her. "I Love You Man" is easy going song but it's not what you think. Just hanging out with a drinking buddy and talking about life. "Monday Morning Church" is a great story about life and the trials people go through. "Knee Deep In A River" is about a love in his life and craving love from her. Jared closes out the cd with a great country music anthem, "Put A Little Stank On It". About going to a bar and they just need "countrified". The cd is a great ride of fresh sounds that any country music lover would love as well as if you just love great music.
